LOWER MANHATTAN

Several times before landing at La Guardia airport, in New York, the plane would follow the Hudson River north. I would see this spectacular view of Manhattan Island below. I have seen this view at various times of the day. The bright lights at night, long shadows of the tall buildings in the early morning after a red eye flight as well as the entire Island bathed in the orange glow during a sunset. Well, that’s the view that I have depicted here. The shadows of the twin towers almost race to the East River and you can feel the sweeping winds above the horizon. I had to stretch the lower part of the island and the buildings to enhance the composition.
